Welcome Imperial Oil to Quarry Park and Ward 12

It is great to see that employment centers are becoming a significant part of the new suburbs, where one can truly Live, Work and Play.

The City of Calgary realizes that the diversification of employment centers throughout the city rather than just a centralized location will alleviate congestion on city roads as well as contributes to two way traffic on transit.

This is another example of the necessity for the SETWAY and better public transit for the Southeast, so those that live in other areas of the city commute to the employment center of Quarry Park.

  1. Alderman Keating:
Perhaps you should come and sit in my backyard in #Riverbend and you will quickly discover through the increased traffic volume, traffic noise and vehicle pollution that the employees of #QuarryPark do NOT "Live" in their employment centre. As a long time resident of #Riverbend, I am disgusted with how the development of #QuarryPark has negatively impacted our community and am equally disappointed that the concerns of #Riverbend residents have not been heard despite numerous conversations with our former Alderman, Mr. Ric MacIvor. As a result, I do not share in your warm welcome of Imperial Oil to Quarry Park.

    1. I live and work in Quarry Park which means I can walk to work on most weather-worthy days. I know this is true for at least a handful of my neighbors on my street alone. 18th Street is sometimes a better alternative to battling it out on Deerfoot and alot of people use it to get to other parts of the City. Fingers crossed that this bit of news helps the SE LRT/Setway get through faster.
